I attached a picture from a site in AZ, after a fire. I could not show you the equipment, but all the equipment in this cabinet was not damaged, tested fine after removal and sent back into production. DDB cabinets did more than their job in this case.

STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF OD, 2OD, & 3OD ENCLOSURES FOR 150 MPH WIND LOADING

Several structural analyses were performed on the OD, 2OD, & 3OD (Outdoor) enclosures to verify their integrity in high-wind conditions. There is no single comprehensive design code that governs enclosures of this nature, especially in terms of structural integrity. This analysis combined several ASCE codes along with general engineering principals to develop criteria to verify these enclosures’ structural integrity. This report details the steps taken to verify compliance. This analysis proves that the OD, 2OD, & 3OD enclosures are safe for operation in winds up to 150MPH.

(3/11/11 Wynnewood, Ok.) DDB Unlimited is building its largest ever enclosure to house telecommunications equipment for Verizon Wireless. The equipment will be located at Target Field, the home of the Minnesota Twins Baseball team, and will provide Verizon Wireless service throughout the stadium. This is DDB Unlimited’s biggest enclosure to date, with a 400amp service powering the 1008 rack units of equipment. The enclosure is 94” high and 25.5’ wide and is equipped with 188,000btu of cooling to offset the heat created by such a large amount of equipment. The construction of this enclosure is all powder-coated aluminum with stainless steel door handles and fasteners. It has 12 separate front doors and 12 back doors for full access to the equipment.

DDB, in association with Yankee Microwave, participated in the RVSS (Remote Video Surveillance System) for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This project involved over 250 monopoles and towers on the Southern U.S. Border (Texas to California) and the Northern U.S. Border (Washington to Vermont).
